The ones who love you back deserve to be kept close.
FondTail began the way most honest things do — quietly, and a little by accident.
It started with a pet who was no longer here, and someone who couldn’t stop missing them. Not a “pet” in the polite sense — a shadow at the foot of the bed, the first face at the door, the one who somehow always knew which day was the hard one. When they were gone, the house got loud with their absence. The photos on a phone didn’t help; they kept them flat, scrolled past, lost between screenshots.
So we did the only thing we knew how. We sat down and drew them — by hand, slowly, every marking and crooked whisker, the exact tilt of the ears. And when that drawing was framed and hung on the wall, something shifted. They weren’t a notification anymore. They were home again.
From one photo, a real artist hand-illustrates your pet. Never a filter, never a preset, never a machine guessing. We turn that artwork into portraits, keepsakes, and memorials made for one animal and one person: yours.
We do it from a small studio in Canada, and we do it carefully, because we know what these pieces actually are. They’re not décor. They’re a way to keep loving someone after the walks end. They’re a birthday gift that makes a grown adult cry in the good way. They’re a first portrait of a brand-new puppy who’ll grow up beneath it.
That’s not a marketing line — it’s the only way we’d want to be treated if it were our dog on the page.
Here’s what we believe: the ones who love you back without conditions, without asking, every single day — they deserve to be kept close. Long after. Forever, if we can manage it.
